Drop Savers Discussion

Listers,

Years ago I recall a vendor who manufactured small plastic caps that could be screwed into a disconnected drop f-connector to keep it clean and dry which prevented having to recut the connector if the customer reconnected at a later date. Do these still exist, and if so, who manufactures them?

Cheers,

Jim

Hello Jim,

We use fitting savers from Telecrafter Products part number FTRM. These work really well in keeping the disconnected f-connector clean and dry. They also have threads in the end that can be screwed to the tap’s locking terminator.

Hope this helps!

Anybody have any advice for what to do with this when the 4-4.2 filters don’t help? I’m in a major metro area with a 5 meter and everything I’m getting from T17 AMC11 V (HITS) is tiling really badly, but intermittently. We checked for problems with the dish, bees/spiders, peaked it, replaced the filter, nothing works the problem still comes and goes. I don’t have a spectrum analyzer but I’m assuming it’s 5G, which AT&T has recently deployed around here.

Hi John,

We were battling a different issue with AMC-11 which ended up being the feedhorn tightening screws. As far as 5G interference make sure all bolts are tight on the feedhorn, filter, and LNB. Make sure all 10 bolts are used as well.

Hope this helps!
